VRTcalc.ie is a free, independent calculator for people importing cars into Ireland. It shows the Vehicle Registration Tax with a full breakdown - OMSP, CO2 band, NOx levy - before you commit to a purchase, using the same valuation data Revenue’s own enquiry system provides.

We are not affiliated with Revenue, the NCTS, or any government body. Every figure on this site is an estimate: the final VRT amount is always determined by Revenue at registration.

Vehicle identification for UK registrations uses the DVSA MOT History API under the Open Government Licence v3. Rate tables are checked against revenue.ie and citizensinformation.ie, and rechecked automatically after every Budget.
